CHAOS 8 hail from the North East of England
A definitive hard driven guitar sound and dark swirling synths give you atmospheric textures that truly bring out brutal, beautiful and oppressive moods that encapsulate every single song.
They launched their first album “Burn” at their debut gig in 2014, followed by “Cause & Effect” in 2016. This has also been released on limited edition red vinyl. Three EP’s have followed, “Out Of Control” in 2018 “She Is Coming” in 2019 and the latest “One Last Kiss” in 2021.
Their brand new album is expected in late 2025. They have played many gigs and festivals in the UK, Ireland, France and Germany with many radio plays on BBC Introducing, HRH Radio and local stations. Their diverse fan base include lovers of rock, metal, goth, industrial and punk.
I’ve always wanted to sing. But it took a while to get there!
I danced from the age of 5 to around 20. At school I played the trumpet and at home we had a piano so I played a bit of that. I acted and did TV extra work.
I was born in Sunderland where I still live and I grew up with loads of great musical influences of every genre and a load of punk rock.
In 2023 some friends needed a singer for their band, The Creepers, and I offered my voice, not knowing if I could do it or not. We recorded an EP in my first week and I’ve never looked back.
A year later I joined a punk band Loaded 44, and we played around the UK, Italy, Germany and still do. We have recorded 2 albums and 4 EP’s and had Olga from the Toy Dolls guest on 2 tracks.
I have writing project, Days Gone By, with Gav Gray (The Almighty, Tygers of Pan Tang) and released a mini pop/rock album in 2020.
In 2009 Steve Ignorant from Crass called me and asked me to sing the female vocals for his project The Last Supper Band, this took us all over the UK and Europe.
In 2011 I started writing with the first guitarist and the Chaos 8 journey began! I can’t wait to see where it leads!
I love the whole thing - writing, performing, recording, video editing, all of it.
My first introduction to music was playing a guitar that i picked up from a friend around 12 years old. 2 years on I saw drum kits at school and I’ve been playing them since. My parents weren’t very musical at all and no one in my family or even distant relatives play any instruments.
Born in Sunderland, I played in several bands on drums. I started off teaching myself then years later at comprehensive school, when I was choosing my subjects, there was drum teacher and I started having lessons. I played gigs up and down the country usually 2-3 times a week. As we started to write original music at the time, we got a chance to share the stage with people such as Shed Seven, Glen Matlock, Cage the Elephant and Snow Patrol.
My first actual band was Rayne, and over the years we did quite a few EP’s and albums and a lot of decent gigs and festivals. As time went on, personally I wanted to get out of the cover band scene playing drums, to be a live jukebox with people asking us to play Tina Turner wasn’t really appealing to me.
In 2017 I got the chance to join Chaos 8, totally different to what I was previously playing and used to. I loved it from the start! Different venues, crowds, shows, people, festivals abroad, the list goes on.
I’m really looking forward to the future shows and festivals ahead to rack up some more great memories.
I started playing guitar when I was 13 and joined my first band when I was 15. I randomly got a guitar for Christmas even though I had no interest in music or even learning an instrument. It was either a guitar or PlayStation. As soon as I picked up that guitar on Christmas morning it was like a bomb went off inside my head and my love for music, and especially guitar, started. I was self taught for the first 2 years and then I got lessons for the next 6 years. Guitar has always been and always will be my life, I can’t get enough of it. As soon as I put that strap over my shoulder I go into my own world and nothing else matters.
I’ve played in bands since I was 15, going up and down the country and played some amazing shows along the way. I don’t really have musical influences but my favourite guitarists would have to be Gary Moore and David Gilmour.
I was asked to play with Chaos for a gig they had coming up at Rebellion Festival in Blackpool, as they needed a guitarist on such short notice, it was only meant to be a one off gig for me. The moment we all stepped on that stage together in front of thousands I knew I was here to stay, it just felt so right and totally felt at home. The feedback I received from Chaos fans was insane! I feel lucky to be part of this awesome band and I’m really looking forward to what the future holds for us.
I’m from Sunderland and my favourite food is pizza.
